Have not canned in about a week, cleaning out our old house and getting it ready to put on the market is taking almost all my time....Almost done!

Black Rasberries are almost ripe and getting geared up for that....Jam, Freeze, What else, I am not sure.  Not thinking about Strawberries this year unless a new recipe pops up that looks good.  But will oick some to eat and freeze.  Keep wanting to start the Smoothie's but think the kids will drive me crazy wanting them 24/7.

We will see.

P.S.  Anyone need any usless junk?

Well, Got the potatoes canned, sliced in half, filled 7 jars, then relized that I would be canning until midnight at that rate.  So, I started to cube them and that worked better.  This batch was for soups and stews anyway, so cubed will work fine.

Aldi's is having a great sale on mushrooms and green peppers.  Going to freeze a bunch tonight.  I willpost how I freeze mushrooms tomorrow.  Very simple.

Well, potatoes are not canned.  BUT I have to do it tonight, they have been soaking and scrubbed since Sunday morning.  Will add photos when done!

The weather here has been so nice and it is going to be in the 70's all week.  YEA, kids are really liking the outside time.

What I am wanting to Can this weekend

I am going to can potatoes little figerings is what they are called.  Picked them up at Kroger for $1.00 for a 1.5 lb bag on sale.  Could not pass this sale up.
Going to use these in soups and stews.

Sale right now on cabage, but since I still have 10+ quarts of canned cole slaw maybe I better not.  Unless I can find a different recipe or something different to do with it..... Let the search begin!

Welcome to my first Blog

Welcome to my first Blog, well abit about me I guess is in order. I am a mother of 2 kids, Charlie age 12 and Samantha age 9. Married to Chuck the most interesting person I have ever met. Right now we are in Football mania, Charlie started playing JFL football this year, first time ever, and loves it. He is playing with the 8th graders even though he is only in 7th. (Yes, he is a big kid, always has been. At age 12 he is as big as me, and I wish that was because I am a tiny petite woman, but I am not :( ) So 3 nights a week we take him to football practice and Sunday is Game Day! He has also made the Basketball team so we will have 2 weeks of overlap. Daughter, Sammi, is into Softball, thankfully does not over lap with any other sports, but she is only in the 4th grade and has major plans of the sports she is going to play next year when she can be on the school teams. I am going to have to figure out how to clone myself.

I am addicted to Canning and have tried all sorts of new things, some really good, some not so much. I want to share my success and failures with you from my canning adventures.

I am interested in Quilting, Crochet, Sewing, and would Love to be able to scrapbook. Notice I said interested in, I can and have done all of them, but seam to have an issue with my intentions are always greater than my motivation. I can be motivated in many ways, but after work and kids, I just seam to loose it.

My big project right now is

Sew a Dorothy costume for my daughter for Halloween. I have the material and pattern bought, and even remembered the buttons and interfacing that I needed. Will keep you posted on the progress.
